Read our summary below for more information about the report.

If you’re looking to streamline your processes and make the most of the talent within your company, you may have explored the option of robotic process automation (RPA). We ran a report comparing reviews from three competitors to help you make the best choice for your business.

The Symanto RPA Report Outline

Our analysts used our advanced AI technology to get a unique, in-depth look at customer sentiment behind topics such as functionality, interface and customer service for a more accurate and definitive depiction of the strengths and weaknesses of each RPA tool.

Here is an outline of how the report was conducted and what information can be found in the full report.

Which platforms are analysed?

We compare BluePrism, Automation Anywhere and UI Path.

What is the data source?

We analysed around 3000 online conversations taken from major software review sites including Gartner, G2 and TrustRadius.

The reviews are mostly sourced from 2020-2021 and are taken from the US market.

Symanto’s cutting edge natural language processing (NLP) technology converts unstructured text data into structured data that can be thoroughly and accurately analysed. Manually, this process is time and resource-intensive, but Symanto technology can process this data in a matter of minutes, leaving our experts to focus on detailed data interpretation and produce useful and actionable insights.

Since the source data is organically produced by real consumers of the software, it’s a rich source of unbiased feedback.

Which factors are analysed?

As well as providing more general information (share of voice, net sentiment, etc.) Symanto technology isolates and compares topics that specifically relate to software providers such as functionality and interface.

Here is a breakdown of exactly what is analysed in the report:

  • Net sentiment overview
Get a high-level view of the situation to find out which brand has the best net sentiment value. Our ground-breaking NLP technology accurately and reliably measures positive, negative and neutral sentiment in written long-form text.
We found that UI Path had the highest net sentiment score at +67%, while Automation Anywhere scored the lowest with +20%.
  • Net sentiment drivers by topic
Discover which topics about each brand are most discussed and therefore have the greatest impact on overall sentiment.
Automation Anywhere scored significantly lower when it came to functionality, with a net sentiment of –57%, driving down overall net sentiment significantly.

  • Net sentiment per sub-topic
Delve more deeply to identify more precisely the drivers and barriers determining the sentiment score as well as the polarising subjects dividing customer opinion. For example, we found that while functionality was a low scoring net sentiment topic across the board, the subtopic “reliability” most heavily affected sentiment.

               Interface: Usability, layout, features, upgradability
               Functionality: Reliability, configuration, integration
General experience: Efficiency, recommendation, brand perception, security.
Service and support: Customer service, training community support.
Price and value: Cost, value for money.
               Application: Business areas.
Diving deeper we found that reliability was the biggest pain point for customers across the board, though net sentiment varied from –80% to +14%. BluePrism scores fairly well compared to its competitors, though training is a clear customer pain point.

  • Quotes
The report isolates key quotes from consumer posts and reviews that illustrate the strengths and challenges of each brand, and their drivers and barriers.

Exploring even further, we isolated quotes from each topic to find out precisely what customers are struggling with. This quote from a BluePrism customer, for example, shows us that lack of materials is one of the reasons why the company has a low net sentiment score for training:

“The community is not that big as compared to other competitors and training material is also not available to everyone.”

  • …And more
The report also shows the many other potential deep dive possibilities made accessible with Symanto technologies. From word clouds, to graphs showing conversation volume over time, there are plenty more data visualisations to enable you to spot trends and developments between the software providers.
