ABOUT MARC:

Marc is Chief Scientific Officer at Symanto, where he joined in 2016. In this role, he works together with his team to provide our data analysis platform with novel solutions based on the latest techniques of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine and deep learning.

He has more than ten years of experience as a researcher in projects related to multilingual natural language processing and information retrieval. Those projects allowed him to acquire a strong background in machine and deep learning, data science, analytics, and mining.

He obtained his PhD in computer science in the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), where he also obtained his Engineer’s Degree in Computer Science and his Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition and Digital Image.

ABOUT SANJA:

I am Senior Research Scientist at Symanto Research, leading and working on several projects that combine psychology and Artificial Intelligence. My current focus is on building reliable deep learning models for personality detection and natural language generation systems for personalized messaging.

Before joining Symanto, I was working as a post-doc research scientist at the University of Mannheim, on a large multidisciplinary project joining AI/NLP and social sciences.

Domain Adaptation

ABOUT MARA:

I am a Research Scientist at Symanto since September 2018. Previously I have been member of Pattern Recognition and Human Language Technology (PRHLT) research center, where I worked on statistical machine translation task. I have obtained my PhD from Univeritat Politècnica de València for my work on advanced techniques of domain adaptation in machine translation. My long term research goal is to develop natural language processing techniques to build learning systems with little human supervision.

Interests
Machine learning, Deep learning and natural language processing

ABOUT THOMAS:

Thomas is an NLP researcher with more than 10 years of experience in academia and industry. He worked on structured prediction and language modeling for morphologically rich languages and received his PhD from the university of munich. From 2015 to 2021 he worked at Google Research in Zurich working on semantic parsing for Youtube, Web Search and the Google Assistant as well as academic research on table understanding. At Symanto, Thomas is working on few-shot text classification and mental health risk prediction on social media.
